Just taking this a step further......I see a use for the Rockmolder as a replacement for the -50hp item

What about the mixed Mursaat groups in Ice Flow? Jade Bows/Armors are easy enough on their own (beginning of Ring of Fire), but the mesmers and monks really screw things up. Anybody crazy enough to have tried soloing them?

It's not the mesmers that seriously cause problems (SV with a jade armor hitting you = soon drain monk and mes energy), its the necros... -12 regen on a mesmer/monk really hurts, especially when you're getting energy drained.
Even set up with Watchful instead of ess bond, and vig spirit instead of power drain, you can't keep up with the degen. Even if necros aren't present, the energy surges... really suck... as well as the monster AI is very, very good at powerleaking your healing breeze
EDIT : Tied for largest thread in mesmer subforum

They can hit anything that has a cast time higher than 1/4 afaik, and you can't get healing breeze down that far. With 8~ fast cast it's something like .66 already.
Eles knock you down, mesmers rape your energy, necros give -12 degen... not a whole lot you can do versus them :/ Jades are easy, of course. If you got jades + monk, it would die as well.

Might be a little late in the thread to put this in, but Ettin farming works if you sub Power Drain -> Cry of Frustration and Sympathetic Visage -> Channeling. Just interrupt one heal sig per Ettin with Cry and it will die (if you have IW up the whole time mind you.)

Having the high Illusion (natch) I use IoH (for the run) to the Ettins and Phantom Pain to supplement the IW damage. Even without any interrupts, it gets the job done efficiently

Which way are you getting to the ettins Mouse? If you leave from LA and know how to control/avoid aggro well you can make it all the way up to Ascalon Settlement with only having to go through the fire imps outside of D'Alessio.

Hi, I love your 55 Me/Mo concept. I have experimented with the Mesmer on a couple occasions, but have no practical experience to speak of (I only got as high as level 9 before deleting). I have not tried your 55 Me/Mo build yet, since my new Me/Mo is only level 5 However, I'm hoping to do some power leveling with my guild this week, and then try to assemble the skills to make a solo build.
Lately I have spent a fair amount of time with my 55 Mo/W, mostly practicing on trolls and avicara, but sneaking in an occasional UW run (America never seems to have favor when I'm online ). Since I'm most familiar with killing trolls, I was wondering how your build would work in the troll cave?
I'm used to aggroing 10+ trolls at a time with my Mo/W, but Shield of Judgement and Zealot's Fire make quick work of the trolls. I suppose you could use those same skills on a Me/Mo, but I think the purpose of using the Mesmer is to be somewhat different, so I wanted to avoid those two skills (but may try them just for fun). However, I was thinking Illusionary Weapon might take forever to kill a large group of trolls (I could be wrong of course).
So, I was trying to think of an alternative way to use the 55 Me/Mo with greater AoE damage, and I was wondering if Energy Surge might be suitable? Again, I don't know much about the Mesmer, so I'm searching for knowledge here, not stating something I know for fact. After a quick look at the Mesmer skills, I thought perhaps using Arcane Echo, then two casts of Energy Surge might work (repeated as necessary).
Any additional thoughts or comments, things you already tried that did or didn't work out, and so on, would be much appreciated. Thank you for an interesting build and topic discussion

E-Surge is too little too slow. IW is constant 40 damage per second. This isn't meant for large groups really unless you have a lot of patience.

For trolls (and Avicara), replacing the skills IW, SV, and power drain with SoJ, arcane echo and mantra of resolve is the most effective method (faster with zealots, sure, but this is more sustainable).
This build is more for killing single, large targets like terrorwebs, aatxe, and Keepers of Souls.

I tend to leave from Beetletun, cast mending and just run through everything until the troll area. However, the key to this is not to change into your 55hp gear until safely out of aggro range of any target trolls once you arrive. That way, you don't suffer the frustration of having anything kill you on the way

I see... i (without illusion of haste) just run (in my full hp gear) through the fire imps. From there on it is a matter of watching your bubble.

Man this is a great build Avarra, i really like how you were able to come up with solo mesmer build. But, as a little note, I just wanted to say that personnally, i like to switch your inspiration points for domination points, and use Power Spike, so that the NMs take damage. I haven't found the extra energy cost to be a problem, and its very helpful when they drop faster. Obviously jsut personal preference, but overall, great build!! Gotta give you props man.

One of the reasons I liked power drain (later on), is that I found that without it, soloing the terrorwebs is really difficult. They attack slowly and their hits only give 1 energy, and their spells aren't that fast and burn you almost constantly. Power drain helps give you a little (net 6) energy back in that case, especially when killing the last terrorweb, which doesn't hit enough to keep up energy (I usually have to switch to a +12 focus item or staff to cast breeze/spirit by the end of the fight).
Terrorwebs usually follow a cast - 2 attacks - cast - 2 attacks cycle (fireball and immolate) once their energy and major spells are gone (in case anyone is killing them, knowing that is a little handy).
Another skill I've seen used (on the Me/Mo thread on gwonline, which I must say, is a good deal less developed), is leech signet. This would net you 7, but the recharge is an obvious factor.
Glad you like the build
EDIT : Does anyone want me to try and record killing terrowebs? I'm not sure if anyone is interested or having trouble. If so, I can go try and get it done

If it's not too much trouble... I'm sure most of us would like to see that, actually. I'm down in the start chamber at the moment clearing the Aatxes and watching out for those Dying Nightmares... One of which just about tore me up because I hit Power Drain just a bit too quick.
Also, something not noted at the end of the first post, this build is also usable for farming Sand Drakes and Rockshot Devourers... Not that many people farm those, but hey, it works. I think somebody forgot to tell the Drakes that "Ward Against Melee" doesn't stop an IW mesmer... Also all types of Minotours.
Collector Armor material farming FTW!
Edit: Grasping Darknesses just got me, but oh well. The build works wonders, and they only killed me because I screwed up. Many thanks Avarre!
